Domino Car — Automatic Placement Maths DIY
A see-through car that lays a line of dominoes behind it as it drives. Load the dominoes into the top, switch it on, and it stands them up one by one. Then your child knocks over the first one and watches the whole line fall.
What it builds
- Cause and effect, from setting up a line and watching it topple
- Planning a route: turn the wheel to steer and the line curves where you point it
- Counting and number recognition, since the dominoes are printed with numbers
- A look at how machines work, through the clear shell and the turning gears inside
Why we stock it
Setting up dominoes takes steady hands and a lot of patience, and a three-year-old has neither. One knock and the whole line goes before it's finished. This car does the setting up, so the child gets to the good part. The clear body shows the gears turning as it drives, which keeps them watching the machine as well as the dominoes.

Wipe it with a dry cloth and keep it away from water. Take the batteries out if it won't be used for a while. Run it on a flat, hard floor or table, because carpet makes the dominoes wobble and fall early.
