Study book — touch a picture, hear the word
A picture book that talks back. Touch a letter and it says it, touch a sheep and it bleats, touch a drum and it plays. Letters, numbers, animals, vehicles, family words and musical instruments, one topic per page.
What it builds
- First vocabulary: the word is heard at the moment the child points at the picture
- Letter and number recognition, repeated as often as they want without an adult getting tired of it
- Listening, since the sound only comes when they touch the right place
- Words for the people around them — the family page gives them mother, father, grandmother and the rest
Why we stock it
A child learning words wants to hear the same one twenty times in a row. Adults run out of patience long before that. This book doesn't. It has no screen, no app and no WiFi, so it gives a three-year-old the repetition of a tablet without anything to scroll. It is also flat and light, so it goes in a bag for a waiting room or a long car ride.

In the box
The study book, in its printed carton. Fit batteries before the first go, and check whether each page has its own start button before deciding it isn't working.
Care
Wipe the pages with a barely damp cloth. Never wet the book, since the sound unit sits inside the cover. Store it flat so the pages don't warp. Take the batteries out if it is going away for a while.
